By accessing or using CarbSequence ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

CarbSequence is a mobile application available on iOS and Android that allows you to:

• Photograph meals and receive AI-powered nutritional analysis
• View estimated calorie counts, macronutrient breakdowns, and glycemic impact predictions
• See exercise equivalents for meals consumed
• Track meal history with daily and weekly nutrition summaries
• Save favorite meals as dishes for quick logging
• Sync nutrition data with Apple Health or Health Connect
• Access food search, barcode scanning, and manual meal logging

The free tier is ad-supported. Free users see a banner ad on the Home tab and may watch a short rewarded ad to unlock additional daily analyses beyond the included limit. A premium subscription removes all ads and provides unlimited analyses.

3. Important Disclaimer — Not Medical Advice

CarbSequence provides AI-generated estimates of nutritional content and blood sugar impact. These are approximations and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical or dietary advice. Always consult a healthcare provider for nutritional guidance, especially if you have diabetes or other health conditions.

4. Account Requirements

• You must be at least 18 years of age to use the App
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

5. Your Content

• You retain ownership of all photos and data you submit to the App
• You grant CarbSequence a limited license to process, store, and transmit your content solely to provide the service
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you submit
• Meal photos are stored securely in your private account and are not shared with other users

6. Subscriptions, Payments, and Advertising

• CarbSequence offers a free ad-supported tier and a premium subscription ($3.99/month or $19.99/year)
• The free tier includes 3 AI analyses per day; additional analyses can be unlocked by watching a short rewarded ad
• Premium removes all advertising, provides unlimited analyses, and unlocks advanced coaching features
• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings
• Refunds are subject to Apple's and Google's refund policies
• We use Google AdMob to serve ads to free tier users. By using the free tier, you acknowledge that ads will be displayed in accordance with our Privacy Policy

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purposes
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the AI models or algorithms

8. Service Availability

• We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• AI analysis requires an internet connection and may be temporarily unavailable
• We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• We may suspend accounts that violate these terms

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that nutritional estimates will be accurate, that the service will meet your specific requirements, or that errors will be corrected.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CarbSequence shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to health outcomes resulting from reliance on nutritional estimates provided by the App.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CarbSequence and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time through the App
• We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these terms
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy

14. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which CarbSequence operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
